I am a native Californian, second generation actually, born and bred in the Bay Area and have never lived anywhere else. In "traditional" astrology I am an Aries with Leo Rising and a Cancer Moon - so I can be pretty intense. Under Chinese Astrology I am a "Metal Dog".
I grew up working the Renaissance Pleasure Faire (Northern) and The Dickens Christmas Faire and going to SCA events. I also grew up attending and working various Science Fiction & Fantasy conventions. So I spent most of my weekends in costume/garb of one sort or another and got to the point where mundane clothing seemed to be the costume.
On July 10 of 2006 I had Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Surgery (with gallbladder removal) at Summit Medical Center in Oakland, CA. My surgeon is Dr. Ajay Upadhyay. My highest weight ever was 367 as of March 21, 2006 (according to my surgeons records, my Endocrinologists records from around the same time state 376 - so someone could have been dyslexic - I need to find my WW weigh in cards), my weight the morning of my surgery was 347. At my one year post-op appt with my doctor I was officially down 120 pounds since surgery. At my 2 year post-op appt I have maintained that loss, but it has not been easy. I am now 3-1/2 years out and maintaining.
